[Briefing] Internet governance in September 2015

Online and WMO building, Geneva    29 Sep 2015   Internet Governance, Webinar

This month, particular focus is on the Internet and sustainable development goals, with the UN Summit adopting the post-2015 development agenda at the end of September. How can the goals become a reality in an increasingly digitised world?

[Update] Join us for the next briefing on 27 October; registrations are now open

Other important developments are also taking place: will the USA and China strike a cyber arms deal? Following the opinion of the Advocate General to the European Court of Justice, could European data protection authorities suspend data transfers to third countries, particularly the USA? Will search engines need to apply the right to be forgotten globally, following the decision by the French data regulator?

Join us once a month for a round-up of the main IG-related events and developments. Every month, we look back at what happened and look ahead to what’s to come.

The Internet governance in September 2015 webinar briefing will take place on Tuesday, 29th September, at 11:00 UTC (13:00 CEST). The webinar briefing takes place online, but you can also join in situ at 7 bis Avenue de la Paix, Geneva (WMO building, 2nd floor). To join, please fill in the registration form.

Read the digest from last month's briefing, Internet governance developments in July and August.

The monthly Internet governance briefings are organised by the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP), a Swiss initiative run by DiploFoundation. To keep up-to-date with GIP events, subscribe to the mailing list. More information: gip@diplomacy.edu
